There’s something special about traveling with people you’ve worked with for years. You have shared stories, inside jokes, and travel habits and quirks. Take that crew somewhere new, and you get even more unforgettable adventures.
That’s exactly what the Arcanys 5-Year Club did in Taiwan this year. 🇹🇼
From October 3 to 5, tenured Arcanys employees, with their plus ones (or more), explored Taipei and its surrounding areas, taking in scenic spots, wandering through old streets, enjoying delicious food, and, of course, making time for pasalubong.
Taiwan wasn’t new territory for the crew, though. The group first visited it in 2019, marking its first international adventure and setting the bar for many trips that followed. You can revisit some of those adventures in our feature on past 5YC trips.

“My personal favorites from the trip were the cypress trees of Alishan and the turquoise waters of Sun Moon Lake. Both places were absolutely enchanting. I also loved the quaint, historic charm of Jiufen.” — John, Software Developer

From scenic escapes to bustling night markets, the Taiwan trip had a little bit of everything. And with plenty of free time in between, everyone had room to explore at their own pace.

One of the highlights was Shifen Waterfall, where the group traded Taipei’s city streets for one of Taiwan’s best-known natural sights. From there, Shifen Old Street brought everyone back into the action, with local eats, shops, and plenty of spots worth stopping for.

“This was my family’s first time visiting Taiwan. Actually, it’s also our first international trip. I went with my son and sister. My son Cloud, his favorite part was releasing the lantern in Shifen. Mine was seeing him enjoy every bit of the experience." 😊 — Lynnz, Recruitment Specialist

Then there was Jiufen Old Street, with its winding lanes, hillside views, and cozy old-town charm. Between the food, photos, and wandering around, it was easy to lose track of time. In the best way, of course.

Of course, no trip would be complete without a bit of history and culture! The group visited the Taipei National Palace Museum, home to thousands of years of Chinese treasures, from jade carvings and ceramics to ancient artifacts.

They also stopped by the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, one of Taipei’s most iconic landmarks, known for its striking architecture, spacious gardens, and changing of the guard ceremony. And judging by the snapshots, there was no shortage of IG-worthy spots along the way!

No Taipei trip would be complete without a stop at the famous Taipei 101. And of course, the group headed up to the Taipei 101 Observation Deck for a different perspective of the city, trading street-level views for a panorama stretching across Taipei. 🥰

“Celebrating a decade with Arcanys and embarking on my 5th 5-Year Club trip made this Taiwan journey particularly special. Exploring landmarks from Taipei 101 and Liberty Square to the historic streets of Jiufen and Shifen alongside my family allowed us to turn a major career milestone into unforgettable memories. Experiencing Taiwan’s rich culture with both my loved ones and an exceptional team was the ultimate testament to ten rewarding years here." — Earl, Recruitment Specialist

As evening came, the group went back to Hotel Papa Whale to wrap up the day with a team dinner at TAKAO1972.

After a full day of exploring, it was time to put the walking shoes aside, swap stories, and enjoy a whole spread of delicious food together.

The trip also left plenty of room for one of the most important travel traditions: shopping for the folks back home.

Ximending Market and Raohe Street Night Market gave the group plenty to browse, snack on, and bring home. Because let’s be honest, no trip is truly complete until the pasalubong is sorted. The only real question is whether there’s enough space left in the luggage.
“Our 5-day trip to Taipei was a truly wonderful and memorable experience! As a family who enjoys science and learning, we especially loved visiting the Science Museum and Astronomical Center. Exploring the interactive exhibits, discovering new things, and seeing our little one enjoy the experience as much as we did made these visits extra special. We only wish we could have stayed longer, as Taipei has so much more to offer! We would definitely love to return someday and explore more of this wonderful city. Thank you so much, Arcanys, for this amazing opportunity!” — Dine, Project Manager

The 5-Year Club has been growing as more Arcanytes reach their five-year milestone. So when not everyone could make it to the South Korea trip earlier this year, another group got the chance to have their own international adventure. This time, they decided to revisit Taiwan.
It’s one of the best things about the 5-Year Club: the destinations may change, but every trip adds a new chapter to the story.
Different people, different adventures, same 5YC spirit. 💜
And we’re already looking forward to more destinations next year… and more memories to make along the way.
