In less than 2 years, the Arcanys team has already helped more than 5 Startups get started. There are two main factors for this successful combination of needs and expertise.
First, Arcanys is managed by entrepreneurs who have a proven track record in creating successful startups. We perfectly understand the entrepreneurial needs and we manage projects in an agile way to ensure that the result perfectly matches the ever-changing idea behind the business model and sets the ground for future successes.
Second, and this is not a secret; most startups start with limited funds and have to be very careful with how the resources are spent, especially at the start (read more about 5 ways you're unconsciously burning your fundings). For this reason, many startups think about outsourcing the entire or parts of the IT work in countries where prices are more attractive. Since startups don’t usually have two chances to succeed, the toughest part isn’t finding cheap prices, but instead, finding the best value for money. This is where Arcanys is able to deliver its full potential: A team of 8 experienced Europeans working hand in hand with a team of 50+ developers in the Philippines who fully understand and translate the customers’ needs into reality.
We’d like to highlight a recent project that has just been launched: Insurancia. Arcanys’ developers created the web structure for the internet startup to run its operations. Insurancia’s online portal allows users to manage their insurance contracts anywhere, with an innovative and independent consulting service if they signup for the premium subscription. The team behind Insurancia, with more than 15 years of industry expertise is setting a new standard in the business in Switzerland, and caught the interest of many individuals but also insurance companies for this disrupting way of doing.
Insurancia is the first of its kind in Switzerland and works on a different business model than any other traditional insurance broker, which usually works on commission paid by the insurers. This old-fashioned business model did not allow complete independence of the brokers, since they directly are paid by the insurers themselves, for each new client.
The project has been completed using scrum to match with the changing requirements of the customer throughout the project. For this venture, our skills were not only technical, as the project was not entirely defined at the start. The team has been working with the best of agile development methods and were able to guide Insurancia’s team to innovate by suggesting improvements during the various steps of software development, that would be implemented and reviewed on a bi-weekly basis thanks to scrum methodology.
In case of startups, funds are in general an issue and the Arcanys team works in a very flexible way by delivering functional products at the end of every sprint. So while the client might be adding new functionalities along the way, he learns as well to remove less important functionalities, in order to launch a working product on the market in the shortest time frame.
