Featured Employee: .NET Master Harvey the Explorer

May 22, 20181 min read

Arcanys is quite proud of finding and recruiting among the most remarkably talented tech professionals in the industry today. Not only do they help us deliver the high-quality products and services that clients expect from us, but they also help us foster the ideals, standards, and values we believe are great contributors to any organization's success.

And to give you a glimpse of how we work, here are some words from one of the valuable cogs in the tech machine that is Arcanys—Harvey Villaver, Senior .NET Developer.

How long have you been working for Arcanys? I have been working for Arcanys for almost six years now.

How were you hired? The company found my profile through LinkedIn. They contacted me from there, and the rest (as they say) is history.

What is your current position? At the moment, I’m a Senior .NET developer.

What is your nickname in the office? Most of my colleagues prefer to call me "konsehal" or "sehal" (councilor), probably because of how I look! Haha! [He then strikes a dignified pose.]

Describe a typical day at the office. Well, I usually arrive early. And the first thing I do is get coffee, to wake me up and get me on the jive. Maybe have a bit of chit-chat with my dudes. It’s just one of the things I usually do. Then, I code and, of course, have coffee again. Haha. Surprisingly, I usually end the day with a happy heart because I often finish most of my tasks.

What favorite pastime/hobby/obsession are you known for? Without a doubt, traveling. Some friends even call me "Harvey the Explorer.” And I play bass guitar, too.

Tell us something most people at the office may not know about you? This is such a tricky one. But most people at the office probably know me quite well. With me, what you see is what you get.

What do you do to beat programmer's block? The good thing is I don't easily give up. But should I get stumped, I don't hesitate to ask Google.

What do you like most about your job? One thing I really love about working for Arcanys is its flat organizational structure. Plus, projects are very challenging. And clients are not only easy to deal with, but they also keep us motivated.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why? I would be a panda—quite rare that people might be afraid to lose me one day.

Among Arcanys' many strengths (and also one of the secrets to our success) is our highly-skilled, professional people. This is why we always strive to take care of them. Wanna be a part of Arcanys? Check out our careers page now!
