I’m the SVP for the information management division at Enfo. We’re a consultancy for services and IT consultancy.

We were searching for resources that could help us during peaks in business. It’s hard to find resources where we’re located.

What challenge were you trying to address with Arcanys?

Enfo is a large Nordic IT services company. They hire 40 highly skilled dedicated software and serverless experts from us to support their operations.

We wouldn’t be the company we are today without Arcanys. They’ve helped us achieve lots of success stories. They support essentially all our work and operate the entire AWS platform we use, which is quite massive. 

Arcanys is the most significant part of our team. They assign three developers for every one of our in-house engineers. We work very closely together. They help us serve all of our most important clients. One of the biggest companies in Sweden has 5–6 teams that work with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re very fluent in English and offer prompt response times. Arcanys is the best team we’ve encountered, which is why we stick with them. 

How did Arcanys perform from a project management standpoint?

The developers have a mindset and attitude we haven’t encountered before. Arcanys has a knowledge base and hunger to learn that makes them stand out from the competition.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They could push back a little bit more against the services we request if they think there’s a better way. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

You should meet Arcanys in person if possible. Get people together in the same room at least once. You’ll see how nice people they are.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We’ve done a lot of work together. Arcanys mainly performs Java development, NodeJS, and Angular. Everything they do is based on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. They help us build many serverless applications. 

We also use Arcanys as our DevOps team. Even for operations, they’re helping us to take care of the environments. They’re 100% integrated with our in-house team, but are simply not in the same room. 

What was the scope of their involvement?

About 30 people from Arcanys work with us. Their dynamic works really well. There are a lot of testers and systems operations specialists. The tech lead works with a few supporting developers. 

What is the team composition?

We had a relationship with one of the founders of Arcanys. We decided to try them first and see how things went. The initial engagement went very well, so we continued with them.

Arcanys acts as an ongoing development partner, interacting directly with third-party clients to provide AWS and cloud-based support. They are currently developing logistics systems.

It’s very important that my company can grow quickly, and Arcanys has made doing so much easier. They provide highly qualified developers for us to work with. For instance, the first developer we worked with from Arcanys had experience with one of our client’s cultures, which benefitted their interactions. Carrying on the project without this developer would’ve been very difficult.

Project management is good, and their standards are high. Sometimes, we have to push them to communicate with our clients. If they don’t engage with the client, our partnership with them won’t work.

Their company culture and ability to maintain a long-term partnership is critical. We’ve worked with them for a couple of years in different contexts, and it’s always worked out great. Also, they retain key resources for long periods of time, which prevents turnover on our end.

Arcanys’s developers are independent and don’t require constant guidance and direction. Their team has a drive that can push any project forward.

They could be more active in increasing their technical expertise and communication skills. They’re good, but they can always do better.

Arcanys provides different kinds of software development. Our clients connect us with a product owner and a business problem, and we engage the Arcanys development team. They interact directly with the client. Right now, my company has a big client in the logistics industry, which means Arcanys is developing different logistics systems. Everything they develop is cloud-based.

Currently, we employ sixteen Arcanys developers. We assign developers based on client needs and project requirements.

I found Arcanys through a previous employer. We needed a team that was certified in AWS and could fulfill our specifications.

My company has spent around $200,000-$500,000.

The engagement commenced in June 2018, and the work is ongoing.
